Last night was the challenge to the Overbabe Rena by the renegade Baron Anubis!!
It was bloody!! It was a bloody massacre!!! Blood and guts everywhere!!! Want me to tell you the end? Everybody dies!!!!!
Oh wait, that's the wrong story. There was blood, but no Overlords or Barons were really hurt during this challenge. Read the small print.
But I digress...
The Overbabe dueled under the colors of Atrebla. She had no second or man of honor.
Anubis dueled under the black banner of a golden Eye of Ra entwined with a viper. His Lady of Honor was Dawn Shadowsbane-Karos, in absentia. His second was Johnathan Ecorian Havoick.
The Overlord opted for a Best of Three format.
The first match started well for Rena, but soon enough Anubis tied the score to two and after eight rounds the score was 4-3 in favor of Anubis. Then on the next round Anubis did some fancy defense taking the point and the first match!
The second match was a little better one for Rena. After the first three rounds the score was 2-0 in her favor! She held the lead up to the sixth round where the score was 2-1. This didn't sit well with Anubis who scored four consecutive points to secure the win and the title!!! This is the second time Anubis has held the title of Overlord!
All Hail Anubis!! 65th Overlord of the Duel of Swords!!!
Other notes:
Rena received the ring for the Barony of Old Market and declared herself renegade.
Topaz, who was present for the challenge, declared Dragon's Gate renegade.
Max also declared Dockside renegade to the new Overlord.
No other Barons were present to declare alignment.
