Couple of Updates!

I discovered, quite by chance, that I actually have the ability to make some significant changes to several items in histories and rules, and have apparently had this ability for quite some time.

That said, I've cleaned up the rules a little bit, hoping to clear some things up and make them a little more readable, so some might want to double check those.

Also, I've updated the Parade of Warlords to accurately account for several missing warlords over the last two years. Example, Soerl was listed as the Only Warlord of 2008, but there were THREE others before him that year to make Warlord. I've added them and corrected the dates and numbers for those Warlords. Apologies for taking so long to both notice that they were missing and for how long it took to get them updated.(Nearly two years in some cases.) If I am missing any Warlords, PLEASE let me know. I can look for the dates, I just need to know who I missed. And I think I missed one but am not certain.

Finally, I came across an old set of Dueling papers called "Dueling Today" that I did a search on, when Wyheree sent me an old copy someone sent her, and found a bunch of them on Dueling Zone(Jake has like.. everything there. SRSLY.)

It turns out, that there were a significant amount of Overlord Histories contained in that publication, which allowed me to prepare updating on the Overlord History section for about 4-6 Overlords who were listed as blank, and where it was assumed that those histories were completely lost. So major thanks to Jake for having saved those on the Dueling Zone site, and for Wyheree who inadvertently caused me to do a search for more on that publication, and to Google for sending me to Dueling Zone.

I expect in the next couple days to get a few more things taken cared of, as time progresses, as well as fix those Overlord Histories where I just copied and pasted the articles relating to those challenges(which means they're horribly messy right now, but left them there for easy access)

I hope everyone enjoys these updates. I know I have some work cut out for me. Heh.

Not to be negative, but how is catching up the WLT updates on the past tournaments page coming? That's still showing 04/05 tourneys.

Would be nice. Though it's my belief that there won't be any logs available, it'll take some time to get the WLT histories done, too. Trust me, there's a TON of stuff to look through. We're getting to it as we can. The Triple Crown was just done cause it was the easiest to get done, and Cas new right off the history contained in there. So, it was about a half hour of work to do.

The WLT, especially considering how many we've had from 04/05, is gonna take a little longer. I suppose I could do a quick retroactive one of the most recent ones and just have the bare details contained in them just so people know who won, but some of the others, which include those who actually participated in them, are likely either very difficult to come across, or gone altogether. Usually the results posted only contain the winner and runner up, or the prize winners.

To be honest, I hadn't put that one on the high importance list, right offhand. I should probably make it at least medium importance, though. A lot to work on, heh.

I figured as much when I asked. going by the 2005 marker, there have been what, at least 16 tournaments since then? Not all of which would have taken just one night. Though most of the current ones SHOULD be in the log system in the flashchat if someone wants to schlogg through them, ( with me going on Midnights here in the next few weeks I could do as it will get pretty boring at times.)

As far as I know, the FC logs only go back 2 weeks before they're purged. So they'd be lost, I think. If I'm wrong, I hope someone corrects me.

And I dont think any of the WLTs went two nights since we left AOL. Course, I can't say for sure, cause I dont think I was in any of them till the last one. lol

I certainly don't mind anyone helping out, especially while my good computers are currently hosed and this one I have now is very, very slow(FC now drives me a little crazy and frustrates me a little cause it doesn't run well on this laptop.)

I'm trying not to overwork these, cause staring at the screen so much looking for the info kinda burns you out pretty quick. It's the tediousness and all. So if no one does it, I understand.::chuckles:: Just time consuming.

Anyway yeah, I rarely, if ever, turn down help in regards to looking through old posts, logs, etc.

EDIT: Just been told, we do have logs going back quite a ways.

So, never mind that. Heh. Just gotta get the correlating dates and work from there!

I'd be willing to help out with this, obviously with others. As I said, 4 WLT's a year, and the current page is 05. That's a minimum of 16 tournaments. A group of 4 could split them easily enough by doing specific quarters and typing them up to be catalogued by the admin.

After the WLT information is updated, how about updating the Talon histories next?

I have logs for the last three Tournaments, in case they're needed.

Actually the most recent one up is Spring 05, so it would be easier to start with Summer 05 which was called by Plsyder and he posted it in like 9 parts plust the semi finals and work up to 05 for continuity.
