Calling all Mages! Come out and test your mettle against your peers,
and see who gets the honor of facing our current Archmage!



Tournament Details

Saturday, April 26th at 8 pm ET, on Twilight Isle.
Late entrants have no more than 5 minutes to arrive.
Seeding will begin at 8:05 pm; casting will begin at 8:10 pm.
Format will be determined by the number of entrants.




Seeding

Determined by the most recent Ring of Klytus (RoK) rankings.
Early registration will be cut off on Thursday, April 24th at 9:55 pm ET.
Any late registrants or walk-ins will be ranked below early registrants.
Registrants tied with the same ranking will be seeded by WoL.

The Right to Challenge Our Current Archmage

Second Place

The Keeper’s Blessing

First Option for Use
Allows the wielder of this grant the ability to use a special one time use Elemental Fury crystal within a challenge against a Keeper. This crystal will allow its wielder the use of Elemental Fury up to three times within a challenge (should the challenge go to 3 full duels). The power of the Elemental Fury Crystal can only be used once per match. The Keeper’s Blessing is available for use until the next Archmage Tournament.

Second Option for Use
Allows the wielder to submit the Blessing to the Duel of Magic staff to be redeemed for a Challenge Grant that can be awarded to any duelist, ranked Enchanter or Apprentice, of their choice. This grant will allow its wielder to challenge one of the four elemental keeper titles so long as the keeper is not under a grace period. This grant must be used within 14 days.

(( Should second place go to a current Elemental Keeper, they can only select the second option to give the grant away, and cannot select the EF crystal since they’re already a Keeper. ))

We started with five competitors in this double elimination tournament.

Gillette had the bye
Droet the Bold def. Lost Valkyrie, 5 - 2 in 6 rounds.
Nikolai Allen def. Rhys Germain, 5 - 3.5 in 10 rounds.
Trinity and Rhys went to the Constellation Bracket.

Droet had the bye.
Rhys Germain def. Lost Valkyrie, 5 - 1.5 in 8 rounds.
Gillette Brooke def. Nikolai Allen, 5 - 3.5 in 12 rounds.
Trinity finished 5th.
Nikolai went to the Constellation Bracket.

Droet the Bold def. Gillette Brooke, 5 - 3.5 in 10 rounds.
Rhys Germain def. Nikolai Allen, 6 - 4.5 in 20 rounds.
Nikolai finished 4th in his first Archmage Tournament.
Gillette went to the Constellation Bracket.

Droet was the only one left in the Celestial Bracket and was able to rest while the remaining duelists in the Constellation Bracket.
Rhys Germain def. Gillette Brooke, 5 - 1 in 8 rounds.
Gillette finished third.

Droet and Rhys faced off to see who was going to duel Archmage Doran Ilnaren and who would be taking home the Keeper's Blessing.
Rhys Germain def. Droet the Bold, 6 - 4.5 in 14 rounds
Rhys won this match which reset the bracket and sent us into yet another match.
The final match score was: Droet the Bold def. Rhys Germain, 5 - 2.5 in 11 rounds.

Droet the Bold will face off with Archmage Doran Ilnaren to see who will gain or retain the key for and stewardship of Citadel of the Stars.
By virtue of winning second place, Rhys Germain earned the Keeper's Blessing which will allow him to call upon the of one of the Towers to aid in a challenge match with an Elemental Keeper.

Sports fans! It was my honor and privilege to be chosen to officiate this match tonight between Archmage Tournament Champion Droet the Bold and two-time defending, reigning Archmage Doran Ilnaren! The Keeper of the Citadel of the Stars chose to fight all three matches in the special ring of Olympus, and yes it took all three matches to complete this challenge! The first match went to Doran! The second went to Droet! The third brought us to a breathtaking SUDDEN DEATH finale with the Archmage pulling the rug out from under Droet's feet in the final round to get his third defense!
