Challenge for Dragons Gate (OL Grant)

Post by Yasmin Shabani »

a torn page of blank sketch paper is pinned to the notice board

Crash,

I'm not entirely sure what to do with one of these things, but since Lord Karos seems to think I'm worthy... I challenge you for Dragons Gate. Nothing personal, but it seems to be Baron-hunting season, and you've got the shortest commute to all the dueling venues.

Plus, I think you’d be a blast to party with after.

Yazmataz, huh? I like it. Definitely my favorite nickname so far. Gotta come up with a good one for you...

Ok, so, now that we've worn out some urchins working out the details - we're on for Wednesday the 30th, at 9 pm EST. And as a special bonus - The Anvil himself said he'll call.

I've got a couple food trucks who might owe me some favors for goodies - no reason not to get the party vibes going early, right? Undercity if you win, if I win, there's this sweet spot I usually hit in Dockside. Either way, its gonna be a blast.

Someone has turned the arena into a swarm of lights and neon for tonight's challenge. If it's like this now, just think what the afterparty will be like! There's music, and snacks - provided by some of the cities best late night food trucks, which have converged on the area to keep the partygoers fueled for everything the night has in store.

Today, April 30th, the challenge for Dragon’s Gate took place. Yasmin had no colors, seconds, or people of honor. Crash’s banner was a black silhouette of his head on a neon pink background, and G0D in white pixelated letters on the monitor. His second was Xiao Hu and his person of Honor was Noomi!

The baron opted for a best of three format, and we got things started. The first match ran ten rounds, and there was a lot of identical movements. Round one started with a pair of thrusts and the score did not change again until round four with another pair of thrusts. Crash took the lead in round six with a side step around Yasmin’s thrust, and never let it go. There was a hi-lo trade in round eight, and the baron closed it out in round ten with a score of five to three.

Yasmin Shabani Crash
1. TH 1-1 TH
2. LC 1-1 LC
3. CP 1-1 FLP
4. TH 2-2 TH
5. HC 2-2 HC
6. TH 2-3 FSS
7. SH 2-3 FDU
8. HC 3-4 LC
9. DI 3-4 FCP
10. LC 3-5 TH

Status: complete

The second match was shorter by two rounds. Crash dominated the first four rounds, keeping Yasmin from scoring until a double thrust in round five, however this put Crash at Challenge Point. Yasmin would score again in round seven, closing the gap to two points, but a trade in the eighth round would clinch the defense for the baron. Crash defeated Yasmin five to three in eight rounds.

Yasmin Shabani Crash
1. HC 0-1 FLP
2. SH 0-1 FCP
3. LC 0-2 TH
4. SL 0-3 SH
5. TH 1-4 TH
6. HC 1-4 HC
7. TH 2-4 LC
8. LC 3-5 HC
