What do you feel is unbalanced? I feel like DoM4 is quite a bit better balanced than past versions of Magic.

There's far too much focus on w/l in the matrix with only scraps for exchanging or frustrating an opponent narrowing possible strategies. There's no clear progression from strong general a/d to weaker focused a/d. Entirely too many moves have identical stats. (Spoiler alert) the DoM matrix requires less strategy than a checkers game. It's counting cards. It's an elephant and an ant on a seesaw.

I would be willing to tweak the matrix a bit and post it for ridicule (review) if you would like.

So I'm answering from my phone so this will be short. I'll write more once I'm home but I'm not seeing what you're saying. I know you've recently returned after a hiatus. Out of curiosity have you tried DoM since DoM4 came into play?

I have not. I was referring to the DoM matrix on the dueling Zone. It's different from the one I knew from back in the stone age so I was assuming it was the new matrix.

I highly encourage you to try it out in an actual duel before discounting it. The matrix may look daunting at first glance but from many I've talked to, they find it to be incredibly intuitive.

If someone is looking for a more smaller Matrix. DoS is for them. If someone is looking for a wider approach with more options. DoM is for them.

There's really no point in making one game much like another.

As for saying DoM requires less strategy? I'm going to have to disagree with you on that. As someone who has held over 30 titles through all three of the sports, DoM requires more tactics and matrix reading compared to DoS when it comes to me. DoS is simply %'s, luck, and knowing tid-bits of data on opponents. Even without the third, it's basically just the top two.

I'll ditto Claire and say that you should play the new DoM game before jumping to judgements. Try it for a cycle or two with the new system, as it isn't at all like it had been back in the old day. Neo created a more balanced and streamlined approach to the game that not only makes it faster in high rank games, but also more fun.

As for anything balance related. It's hard to get where you're coming from when you're not listing what exactly is wrong with the matrix; when it comes to moves, etc, etc. But that can honestly come later after you experience the game as it is now, compared to as it once was.

Meteor Shower / Foul Fog spamming won me my archmage. Never 4get.

Honestly I like DoM's matrix because of how many options you have. All those defensive options giving you a shot to come back from 4-1 as long as you plays solid.. Because, I recall you doing that to me in a few DoM challenges which left me putting face to hands.

I tried Magic about 5-6 years ago, didn't understand it AT ALL, could not grasp the concept or find success. Granted I only tried it maybe 3 or 4 times and it was really the only sport I tried, aside from swords 1 time.

I have been trying magic again lately, now that I have a grasp of how things work with the matrix and a better understanding of dueling all together. Although Magic is not my favorite sport, I have found the new matrix, while overwhelming upon first glance to actually work much better than it used to and I have been wanting to participate more.

I like the new matrix, for whatever it's worth.

So I'm to understand that the DoM matrix on Dueling Zone isn't the current one?

Seeing as there are several on Dueling Zone, you'd have to be more specific. That said, regardless of which you are referring to, I still would like to encourage trying it out in real time before believing that it needs to be "fixed".

I meant no disrespect in my words and I know I can be blunt and harsh without intent. I'm not eloquent and if I offended I beg forgiveness.
The future, present, and past of the DoM and its matrix aren't dependant on my opinion and I will endeavor to keep that to myself in the future.
