Regarding Official Responses

In order to avoid responses like
this to posts like
this is it too much to ask that official Duel SNs be used when dispensing official information?
Thanks.

Probably...
I doubt you are going to break me or G of this habit.

Part of the problem is that people try to use one login. Often that ends up a non-duel name. In my case its the opposite problem.

Yo Cathy
Even if the DUEL name was attached I would have responded the same way. I know that player's official capacity and I also know what they are doing since I know the handful of other characters that player plays as well and beginning to see a pattern with that player's actions towards me and my characters. If anything I want to thank you for officially documenting the moment in case I need it for future reference. A "DUEL" name may be seen as a cop badge to some but not to me, if I see something wrong I will call foul. I respect officials time in maintaining the site, but that does not give them card blanche to use that "authority" in nefarious ways either. I did nothing wrong and that player had no need to post that really and I called it out on that.
But go ahead Cathy I look forward to your next quick knee jerk reaction post to bash something I am doing. I am such the villain after all.
Perhaps maybe you should take a step back and look at the whole picture of what is happening before rushing to conclusions about things.
And here I thought you were a friend, guess I was wrong.

ok....
Elijah, calm down.
Apple was just trying to be helpful. I've confirmed this.
This *IS* a relatively new thing that Apple and the Coords have been trying to set up. So, it's understandable that *all* of us, are not used to doing things a different way.
They went to a lot of effort to contact the callers and to get information about their availability and then posted that info so that we, the duelers could use it. Apple was just pointing us in that direction.
No harm was intended, and none should be taken.
Let's step back, take a breath, and remember we're here to have some fun, right?

I think officials being under official names when making official posts is a good thing.
I don't think PrlUnicorn had anything nefarious in mind when she created her post either.

Nor do I think Apple had anything nefarious in mind when creating their post.
This post here was created very recently, and AFTER the influx of challenges:
http://www.ringsofhonor.org/forums/view ... hp?t=26967 Therefore logic dictates that others who were asking for a caller in the same way couldn't have been directed to that post. Your post is the only one asking for callers in that way after that thread went up (to my knowledge) and imo Apple was only offering a reminder not only to you but the entire community.
ETA: Jake's a ninja.

Joku,
Please let me direct you toward a few threads.
http://www.ringsofhonor.org/forums/view ... hp?t=26750
The first thread listed above, is a rolodex of challenge callers posted by DUEL Norah on May 8th. Every sport coordinator has taken the time to post a list of callers for challenges in their respective OOC board. This happened 2 months ago. There had been a rash of people not properly securing callers for their challenges and this is the staff's attempt to alleviate this. It is the responsibility of the duelists involved in the challenge match to find a caller directly

This second post I've linked is Apple's reminder to use these threads, posted on Monday. Note the date stamps on these posts. You are not being targeted. You are being reminded of a new procedure. Nothing "nefarious" or "abusive" is occurring and to make accusations claiming such is out of line.

I posted about it as well on May 8. To everyone, asking for callers on the IC boards is longer how you get a caller. Going through the rolodexes provided in the OOC areas and asking each, with advance notice (so they can schedule yanno, their own lives) is how you get a caller. Expecting callers to simply be there for you is taking advantage of them. Some of them already call multiple shifts and are not at everyone's beck and call.

Agree with Jake, Lydia, Harris, Goblin.
But if it needs to be reiterated from the other DoM coordinator, the rolodex is a helpful tool that is also the preferred means of contacting a caller to call a challenge. The callers go above and beyond to call challenges, their regular shifts, and their very, very, very extended shifts.
This is a good reminder that we all need to give our callers as much advanced notice as possible when we request their volunteered time. Many of them are trying to call duels and also participate in dueling as well so that they can compete in Hydra. It's hard to RP and interact when calling 4+ duels at a time. It's our job as the duelists to not burn our callers out.

You're knee jerking, E. Friends don't always agree with each other, it's a fact of life.
Whether or not you would have reacted the same way is not what my issue is. When one offers official information and doesn't use the official SN it can come off as "Hey, dumb ass ... " instead of "This is the official standpoint and where the information can be found to facilitate this issue." Clearly, you took it as "Hey, dumb ass," or some form there of.
An attempt was made to help you find the official information. Frankly, I find your reaction somewhat rude, especially after your complaint that things were hard to find on the website. It's become a no win situation with you. You say you can't find things, someone tries to help and instead of saying, ((Thanks for the info, we're hoping the Fight Night callers will handle things)), your immediate reaction was to assume that someone was either making fun of you or chastising you.
Jake, RoH Admin attached is to your SN. Anyone can have a custom title, but that is not one of them open to all.
Much as I like G, I'm a bit disappointed that he made a poor call in the recent Old Market challenge thread. He and his character are entitled to their opinion, but it's not his job to make those calls anymore.
In looking over the list of Senior Staff, Apple ( No Duel attached) apparently IS an official SN. Therefore, I offer my apologies to her player.

It's ok to be disappointed, just remember that not being his/my job doesn't eliminate all knowledge of the past experience as being in charge.

And no, I'm not offended.

I noticed there was no custom title for Standings Keeper. There was for Coord, Admin, Official, and Moderator. So I made one for Standings Keeper. Apple has that custom title now.

It seems a bit contradictory that you want us players to use the message boards for making challenges but not completing all the details of the challenge through the message board, but from a page dedicated to the challenge process? Oh my, what a novel concept, yet so contradictory to the vibe being impressed upon me.
Message boards, no message boards, wow.

I know this is going to sound rude but I can't really help it at this point. Dude...what the hell is wrong with you? I realize that you have felt picked on, etc but people have been bending over backwards trying to make you feel better but all you do is bitch and complain about EVERY. LITTLE. THING. If you want people to treat you better, try doing the same. If people are being asses, ignore them.
