The Accused

Post by Bane »

Stalking out of the Iron Fist Garden, Bane was still shaking his head in disbelief at what had just occurred. His teeth were clenched as he grumbled under his breath, moving down the street and past the Iron Fist Academy. Only a few words were even audible. “Nerve!” “How could she?!” “I would never!” were among the things he was mumbling. Normally, he kept his composure in most situations, seldom losing his cool. Tonight was a different story entirely.

"Ya invite me ta yer bed by askin' what I'd charge"

Obviously, she was mistaken.

"Oh, I ain't mistaken. Ya just stared at me before sayin' if I wanted coin or paper and could I see m'self home after..."

Why would Juliane accuse him of that? It made no sense! He would never treat a lady as though she were a prostitute; he would not even treat a prostitute as a prostitute! Well, he would not have many dealings with prostitutes, so that wouldn’t really be an issue. It got even better (or worse, for him) the more his reactions caused the woman’s rage to boil.

"Did the good guy f'real ever feel ya up, huh? Nah, just me?"

So not only was he allegedly the type of person who would treat a lady as though she were a prostitute, he was also apparently the type of man who would grope a woman for the fun of it. That would never happen!

"It sure as hell happened, ya "

Well, it did indeed happen, according to Juliane. Definitely. With lots of profanity, it certainly did happen.

Having been utterly blindsided by the allegations, he had no clue how to react. His reaction was that of a buffoon. Lots of staring, mouth agape, at the accuser. After the continuous onslaught, his temper had gotten the better of him. It really did not help that the man-mountain had gotten involved. He didn’t know the man who had come to Jules’ defense, and he had no reason to dislike the man. Nevertheless, he had almost lashed out. He almost lashed out at the lot of them. There were a couple of people who had vouched for him, but they were the minority. Instead of turning the already out of hand evening into a petty out and out brawl, he had chosen to walk away.

Yet there was something that he could not shrug.

He knew that he would never do any of those things, and as dumbfounded as he was, there were understandably some things that he had missed. What could he have missed that would keep tugging at him, just outside his recollection? As he headed home, he set his mind to trying to figure this out.

"Oh, I ain't mistaken. Ya were all pleased as punch with tha' Shadow thing ya'd won... and ya just stared at me before sayin' if I wanted coin or paper and could I see m'self home after..."

ShadoWeaver.

The thought drained his face of color and left an uneasy feeling of dread deep in the pit of his stomach.
