Uptown, nestled among historic buildings, sits what looks to be a long-forgotten greenhouse. Vines that furl and twist, and some that flower, climb the window panes and give it a back-to-nature feel that catches one's attention with a passing glance. If you step up to the glass lining the sidewalk, you will see old Edison-style bulbs strung from the high ceiling, providing low, warm light to a bustling, eclectic looking eatery. Mismatched chairs surround tables both big and small, perfect for any size gathering that may wander in to eat. The back walls remind you of oxidized copper and lead to a much quieter, private section, reserved for large parties, banquets, and business meetings. Various flora, handpicked for the lighting that the restaurant gets throughout the day, flourish throughout the room. Some hang from baskets, others potted on tables, and vines freely climb the dark supports of the ceiling itself. The restaurant features a well-stocked bar, a wide selection of wines, specialty cocktails, and locally brewed craft beer on tap. Lana Stanton, the restaurant's owner and operator, also offers event booking and catering, according to a stack of business cards waiting by the till.

In the back corner sits a spiral staircase that leads to the back section of the roof. A bar-top surrounded by tall, comfortable stools takes the spotlight in the back, with soft light glowing from beneath the reclaimed wood. Cocktail menus stand folded at the ready, and at one end sits a laminated list of live music the venue intends to host when summer comes to Rhy'din. You can feel the soft thud of bass in the soles of your feet as you step out onto the parquet dance floor, moving between thick-cushioned couches and ample seating along the glass-walled roof. From its edges, you can see most of the city, and at night the city's lights twinkle along with the ebb and flow of the life it all sustains. This rooftop bar and club, of course, can be rented out for events of any nature, but is otherwise open even when the restaurant downstairs is not.

Tabula Rasa | GRAND OPENING!
May 13th @ 8pm EST


Just as darkness falls, Tabula Rasa's doors open for its GRAND OPENING night! At the door, Lana warmly welcomes guests and and encourages them to drop their name into a locked wooden box off to the side to put them in the running for various door prizes to be won throughout the night! A pleasant hostess directs guests to sit wherever they please, and various servers weave throughout the crowd, taking food and drink orders. Lana can also be spotted bouncing back and forth between the front and back of house, mingling with guests, serving and ensuring the start of the night goes off without a hitch! Servers bounce from group to group, offering various samples from the menu.


As guests arrive, they are also welcomed with a beautiful goodie bag courtesy of Whitedown. The gorgeous bag contains everything you need for an at home spa day, alone or with a friend. Sweet floral scented candles and incense to set a mood, and two mini bottles of champagne. Bath salts with herbs and scented oils mixed in a unique scent made for the event, along with face creams and masks, all high end and very expensive.


A photographer has set up a beautiful backdrop covered with fresh cut flowers and greenery, and sits beside a table teeming with all sorts of props and signage for group photos, at no cost to the guests, of course! Strike your best poses and go home with the perfect memento!

Just before 9pm, Lana and Alik call guest's attention to the center of the room and give a short, heartfelt speech thanking them for attending and supporting them on their big night, with a special thanks given to their closest friends. Without them, the night wouldn't have been possible. As the speech comes to a close, guests can hear the soft thud of bass from the rooftop as the DJ takes the booth and the party really begins! At the top of the spiral staircase, Alik and Cara take their places behind the bar to serve and entertain guests. A mix of dance music plays, some mellow, some bassy, some nostalgic throw backs that welcome anyone and everyone to the dance floor! The DJ booth is open, and guests are encouraged to request any song they wish to hear! The lights are low, the vibes are immaculate, and the music doesn't stop until the last guest leaves. The rooftop bar includes plenty of comfy chairs, couches, cushions, and freshly laundered blankets for the cooler temps of the night, offering plenty of seating for guests to relax, chat, and enjoy the music.

Reminder that Tabula Rasa does not have a dress code, so feel free to dress up (or down!) however you see fit! Take photos with your friends and dates, eat, drink, and be merry! Door prizes will be announced in the live event in the Uptown channel throughout the night, so feel free to update your posts with your winnings! Anya made a quick wardrobe change after the Dragon's Gate challenge, then hurried to catch the end of the evening. She arrived ready to sample some of all of the food and drinks. At times, she lingered near the door, nudging guests who received Whitedown spa bags to visit their location in Dockside, and recommending her colleague's special herbal blend for sore muscles after a night of dancing.

As often as possible (and when she knew the steps), she pulled friends away from conversations for dances.

Absolutely enchanted with the new venue, Josie was a bit camera shy, but she did drop her name into the wooden box at the door. She found a quiet moment to introduce herself to Lana and offer her a Jade plant for prosperity and luck for the new business and new beginnings, as well as some white sage. Once she had procured her drink, she admired the beautiful spiral staircase and the breathtaking rooftop view, before moving to grab herself a plate and enjoy all of the vegetarian offerings. Once the D.J. started to hit their stride and that bass was pumping, she was ready to hit the dance floor with friends well into the evening.

[Tell a Lie]

Caution would dictate that Brutella Goode Lye, as (part) inheritor of Alik Murphy's empire, maintain cool distance from the man and any close associates such as Lana Stanton--

--but there was something to be said for sashaying her way knowingly into a trap, just to smile at the one who had set it and blink a wink their way.

She'd dressed boldly in a vintage jumpsuit with a keyhole halter in near perfect shape, a white fur stole, and a jade and gold filter for her cigarettes that had once been owned by the kind of person who kept a hand-written ledger of their sins. (Kindred spirits, really.) She was here to drink -- she would graze a little, though the smoke cut into her appetite -- and she was here to dance.



She was always dancing, really, but this gave her a chance to pretend and say, "Oh, it's been ages since I danced! Step out onto the floor with me - pretty please?"

She was not there alone, and made sure that her chosen companion had a bright wardrobe to choose from. Something blue, but not painted this time. It would be gauche to wear the same suit again so soon.

[Rohin MacKurn]

Rooftop, dancing, and Tella, these are three magic words, a cantrip to a conjurer's trick, to manifest a Collector in Uptown-- far from their usual stomping grounds. The lanky frame sports a summer sky blue suit, with nary a pinstripe or black hat in sight, as the livid orange hair lives wildfire free.

They oblige their dance partner's requests and keep company with their fellow cyclops whose eye just happens to match the suit.

Morgan showed some support, of course, for a friend... but most important was the food. The drinks definitely didn't hurt!

Cianan would show up to see what was goin' on! He'd certainly sample all of the vegetarian options, as well as the drinks. Maybe get a little dancing in. He'd attempt to make coffee, but would get turned away. Alas. At least he'd sparkle.

[Delia]

No more a ghost or a passing breeze, against better judgment and a warning from her warden, Delia Thel'andira made the briefest of appearances. So brief it was easily missed or perhaps written off as a trick of the light that bid wild red and tailored black lace to and through the reveling crowd so that she might drop off a wrapped gift for Tabula Rasa's owners. Within a box wrapped in emerald paper was a crystalline egg cradled upon a sturdy metal stand, the exposed crystal of the egg seemed to shift and change colors. And with that, a note.
