With the coming of Beltane, a archway appears in the woods along the south shore of Kaiju Lake just off the mushroom-lined trail leading to the Beltane clearing. It is crafted from interwoven saplings of the nine sacred trees. Looking through it, one can see only the continuing woodland. Ah, but stepping through the arch takes one through the Veil, stepping onto a winding path through the twilight realm of Faerie. Travelers are warned not to stray, however, lest they be drawn far beyond the fields we know.
All who keep to the path emerge into a meadow of lush grass surrounded by tall, regal trees, with an ancient oak at its heart. This is the fae market of Meadowmeet.
A boardwalk winds across the meadow and encircles the wizened oak, protecting green grass and wildflowers from the tread of heavy feet. There are also multiple circular stages where entertainers from every corner of Faerie and beyond sing and dance, juggle and tumble to dazzle the crowds. Above it all numerous sprites and pixies flit between floating green and gold lanterns.
Alongside the boardwalk, brightly-colored canvas tents and wagons shaded by awnings and banners announce the wares to be found within: food and drink, unusual spices and rare fabrics, potions and trinkets, weapons and enchanted treasures. Many wondrous items can be found in the Meadowmeet! Not all merchants will part with their goods for mere coin, however. Many deal only in trade, and visitors to the Meadowmeet are cautioned not to barter more than they can afford to lose, and to remember that good manners can be more precious than gleaming gold or sparkling gems.
A scoreboard hangs from a low branch at the back of the large, ancient oak tree. There an old redcap eyes the array of dueling rings available, ready to keep track of the wins for those who wish to engage in challenges of blade, fist, or magic. He offers 5000 gold to the evening’s best fighter, along with an offer to accompany him across the lands of Faerie to celebrate their skill.

There will be a live-play event and dueling in #kaiju-lake on the evening of Sunday, May 4th. Duels for all sports will be role-played in #the-solarium but moves will be posted to #arcade, so they count for standings and to avoid confusion in the Outback. (/chal x <sport> <name>)
Whoever gets the most wins of the evening will receive 5000 nobles. Whether or not they accept the redcap’s offer to travel into Faerie is up to the individual, although we suggest that they politely decline.
