Armsgiving 2022!

Post by Death Knell »

Armsgiving 2022
Part of Dueler Appreciation Week

Stop by the Red Dragon Inn this Saturday the 12th of November at 8 PM ET to experience the spirit of Armsgiving: the giving and receiving of arms. Is silver for monsters and steel for humans stifling your style? Is that halberd in your armory weighted just right, but just not the right fit for you? Looking for modern? advanced? traditional? Whatever the case, Armsgiving can help you by putting better weapons in your hands and passing on what you don’t need to those in need.

Ettyn encourages those who have the means to contribute what they can to expand the selection, and to bring in food or drink for their fellow arms-wielders! Tenball will be beholding the festivities from behind the bar, serving patrons and facilitating adoptions.

Just please do not test your weapons on him or your fellow patrons. Unless someone swings at you first. You know how RhyDin can be.

((Thanks to Karma for putting this together last year, and to Tenball for agreeing to host! Feel free to say your character finds a specific weapon here, even if no one posted it. Have something you want your character to put up for “adoption” this Armsgiving, a dish to bring in, and/or outfits to share? Post them here!))

Ettyn’s Contributions:

Skewered Cucumber Finger Sandwiches - freshly speared!

Golden Edge Punch - a bowl each of alcoholic and non-alcoholic

Shining Morningstar - a radiant silver weapon that works best in dark places. Because sometimes, you just need to bludgeon a ghost!

Cane brings some of his favorite fixings:

Locally sourced shrimp etouffee

Homemade apple pie moonshine

An unbreakable obsidian dagger that displaces any matter it makes contact with and transfers it into a pocket plane that exists within the hollowed haft, thus making it seem as though it can cut through anything. Must be attuned.

Anya graced Armsgiving for the second year in a row with a Hammer of Thunderbolts. If it was not chosen by the end of the night, it still wouldn't be coming home with her.

She brought along a favorite from her childhood home, in individual serving sizes.

Roasted Root Vegetable Pot Pies

And all the fixings for Pomegranate Old Fashioneds

Governor Driscol and the students of the Dragon's Gate Dueling Sword dueling school collected a large quantity of gently used arming swords and delivered them in a crate earlier in the day. Each sword is enchanted for durability (effectively +1).

(Multiples of these, free to good home.)

After a recent reorganization of the Blackthorne Household's possessions, Rachael unearthed a long forgotten and unused weapon. She left the weapon, wrapped in brown wool and with a copper coin enclosed to ward off bad luck, at the Red Dragon as her donation to Armsgiving.

Angel donated a beautiful pair of deadly folding fans to the offerings for Armsgiving, to be taken as a pair or divided up as seen fit.
