She makes you feel like you’re the only one who matters. So sweet. So warm. With that little something extra hiding right beneath the surface.

She plays guitar at the coffee shop where she works. She sings like an angel. Lost in the music but she’ll stop and take these deep breaths, scanning the crowd and the faces gathered. Her eyes are the color of amber, with little flecks throughout. They stop on you and every word she sings, you know, it’s her saying all of the things she’s too scared to say in normal conversation.

There’s the light of recognition in her eyes. She remembers, the corners of her lips drawing back to show off pearly whites.

Straight teeth. No stains. Impressive since she works at a coffee shop. Everyone else has stains and their breath smells like coffee. But Delaney smells like fresh flowers.

It makes sense that she’s such a romantic at heart, it’s built into her core. She knows what that piece of information will do.

Delaney Lovell's apartment is awful. She lives down by the docks, in some meager one bedroom apartment that barely passes as a dwelling. Surrounded by little more than racks of clothes and countless books. Despite the terrible area, she comes and goes as she pleases. Not a second thought for her safety. Someone needs to watch out for the little dove.

Sometimes Delaney gets so absorbed in her books, the sun will set and she'll forget to draw her curtains at night.

Delaney has a best friend. Her name is Tahlia. When you see one, the other often isn't far behind. Tahlia seems to be a woman with low morals, but she has Delaney's well being in mind at all times, so it's not all bad. Unfortunately, Tahlia comes with an additional large inconvenience.

His name is Eddie.

There is an emerging downside to Delaney. She's a fan of dueling. Almost fanatical with the way she claps and cheers these people on night after night. She doesn't know them. Why spend so much time and effort on people you don't know?

It's okay, little dove. No one is perfect, but you're so very close. You can learn.

It's so hard to stay upset with Delaney. Today she was performing at the coffee shop. Requests for songs can be submitted on little pieces of paper placed into a jar she sorts through. She knew. She knew which one to play. She picked it out to play as an apology for wasting so much time at those dueling venues. All is forgiven, little dove. Your message was heard loud and clear.

Delaney spent time with Tahlia at The Golden Pearl tonight. They will let anyone into this place. Vile rats sniffing at her, talking to her, complimenting her dress. She was polite and managed to keep most of them at bay.

But one of them could not take a hint.
One of them could not keep his hands to himself.
That RAT was escorted out onto the street by security.

He won't be touching anyone with those hands anytime soon, all shattered like that. Especially not the little dove.

I learned something new about Delaney last night. I love how she shares these things with me. While I thought Delaney was preparing for a quiet evening at home, she took to the streets and walked towards the forest. Curious.

I kept an eye on her, for her safety. It would be dark soon. My look of surprise when my little dove shifted into a little wolf. I'll be honest, I did not linger long. Animals can be more temperamental than women.

When I checked in on her this morning, she was safe in bed.Sleeping peacefully.
